Review:
It's impossible to fault with the sound cultivated by Wolf +Lamb-backed duo Voices of Black. While touching on yearning deep house, it's shot through with lazy funk and a quiet soulfulness. This extended EP showcases the poppier end of their repertoire, largely eschewing heavy dancefloor grooves in favour of something altogether more quirky and laidback. Although the title track is a certified floor-burner (think heavy analogue bass, mutant P-funk chords and alien pads), the rest of the EP takes a deeper approach, offering cuts that delight in bumping along at a slower pace. The results are impressively laidback - highly recommended.
