Review:
While "House On The Left", the latest from San Fran veteran Tal M Klein, is excellent, it's the strong remix package that really makes this a must buy. The original version - a simple but brilliantly effective combination of lazy guitars, midtempo house grooves and nagging piano riffage - is remixed by Bicep, Earwig and Stereo 77. It's the Bicep boys who offer the strongest rework, turning in a smart retro-houser that coolly fuses touchy-feely late night pleasantries with rough acid tweakery. Earwig's rework is all lazy late night groove, while Stereo 77's "Ricanstruction" opts for some midtempo Latin shuffle. Great stuff all round.
