Review:
Given the glut of Chicago-inspired tracks in circulation, Rodrigues isn't the only one who loves the 303, but this release pushes the sound on a few more steps. The title track deploys gurgling acid lines, but does so to the backdrop of a slamming metallic rhythm track, while Steve Rachmad's remix adds ghostly chords and crashing percussion. Berlin producer Mike Dehnert also provides an interpretation, which pushes the original version to a place where evil sirens and visceral riffs prevail. Meanwhile Rodrigues's own "Choices" dispenses entirely with acid and focuses instead on a slamming, metallic club groove populated by walls of white noise and minimal rhythms.
