Review:
Melbourne artiste Griffin James, known to you as Francis Inferno Orchestra, has enjoyed a healthy dose of attention and praise thanks to his deep and carefully constructed house jams. His mature style is impressive for such a young producer and upon hearing this new EP on Join The Dots, we can only jump aboard the bandwagon. "I Need It" swoons with balmy, seductive chords and drums that tip-tap and crash-bang in all the right places. Rolling delicately through classic and captivating streams of sound via rich melodies and an intricate structure, there's nothing to disappoint. The Nicholas basement remix gets funky with guitar licks and chopped vocals adding a bouncier feel while Fantastic Man's Electronic Boogaloo remix takes the oomph to new levels with a deep, pounding b-line and quickened tempo. Another Francis Inferno Orchestra original can be found in "I Said Yes Sir"; which is characterised by spat vocals and heavy drums and rhythm sections. Recommended.
