Review:
Matthew Kyle's impressive In The Woods label welcomes another new addition to the roster, Jona Saucedo. The Mexican producer isn't a total newbie, having previously released some more tech-house leading fodder, but In The Dub is arguably his strongest body of work to date. It neatly fits into the In The Woods stylesheet, offering sumptuous, string-laden slo-mo grooves and soul-flecked midtempo house. There's a slight Soul II Soul-does-slo-mo house vibe to the delicious "Beverly" and "Love & Controvery", with the latter proudly grooving around an '89 style Brit-soul break. "Look At Me", meanwhile, offers a more traditional take on slo-mo disco - all sharp strings, dubbed-out horns and dreamy vocal samples.
