Review:
Canadian electro heavy-hitters Jokers of The Scene drop their fifth release on Fools Gold, and it might just be their best work to date. The tear-stained, long-building Vangelis-ness of opener "Killing Jokes I" is worth the price of admission alone, but when the beats kick in - as on the charging Italo-swirl of "Black Mountie" or the chugging "In Order To Trance" - they show off skills deeper, more polished and more widescreen than even their excellent prior EPs and remixes has only hinted at. Plus, they sample god-like experimental composer Karlheinz Stockhausen's voice on "Organized Zounds" - really, what more do you want?
