Much loved Brighton-based Shogun duo Spectrasoul have always impressed with their versatility, taking us from lush, vocal-led beauties to deep, dark bass-driven cuts at the click of a button. Here, their skills culminate in "Light In The Dark", in which the sweet, sonorous vocals of Terri Walker are paired with snapping snares and an impenetrable booming bassline, whilst reverberating SFX add further depth to the piece. "Shackles (feat. Fox)" sees the boys taking a different approach with rough, rattling breaks, gritty bass, an urban overtone and Fox spitting lyrics over the top. Superb from start to finish.
