Review:
Jatoma is one of Kompakt's rising stars, and the label deserves kudos for commissioning a diverse set of remixes of one of the tracks from his debut album. The Kenton Slash Demon version is spacey contemporary house at its finest, with dense, shuffling drums complementing the hazy melodies. In a similar, albeit glitchier vein is Dustin Wong's interpretation, while the Lucky Dragons version is all stop-start beats and a focus on the dreamy melodies. Best of all though is the Pom Pom take: in a rare remix outing, the mysterious Berlin act uses droning bass, snapping percussion and insistent piano riffs to turn Jatoma's dreaminess into a future Goth techno classic.
