Review:
It must be tricky being Dicky Trisco. We've lost count of the number of labels under his management, but it must be in double figures by now. Maxi Discs, one of his original imprints, has recently enjoyed something of a renaissance. "Discomagnifique" is arguably the label's best for a while. The title track bristles with piano-laden Balearic disco positivity, a feeling confirmed by the thrilling retro-house rework from Pete Herbert. Accompanying track "My House" is pretty tasty, too, delivering a late '80s groover that's propelled forwards by heavy synth bass and twinkling synths. Peter Herbert and Dicky Trisco remix, adding some touchy-feely deepness to proceedings.
