Review:
Always considered one of the key protagonists of the Scandinavian Skweee scene, Metske has surprisingly few releases to his belt but this move to Nottingham's Wigflex imprint makes for a logical step, as the label shares a similar passion for glossy and yet proudly wonky electro funk contorted into all manner of grooves. Splitting the EP with Wigflex regular Metaphi, Metske's tracks are both slow rocking jams that feed in an interesting spread of samples from bluesy harmonicas to dramatic violins. Meanwhile Metaphi has a more propulsive 4/4 funk behind his beats, keeping the psychedelic globules of synth moving forwards, not least on the fist-shaking weirdo funk of "Mess Mode".
