Review:
Save for a track on last year's DJ-Kicks mix, and the musings of his ever deprecating Twitter account, Gold Panda has been quiet since the release of his debut album Lucky Shiner in 2010. Now we have a brand new two-track single, and one can only hope that this EP signals the return of the producer proper. "Mountain" is a typically lush journey through fractured Eastern melodies guided by stray 808 snares, while "Financial District" is a more downbeat, lumbering beast, shrouded in melancholic blue notes.
