Nadia has been a staple on London's East End scene since being absorbed into the indie-disco clique surrounding clubs like Our Disco and the Erol Alkan-blessed clubnight, Durrr. This apprenticeship has now paid off, resulting in a single on Alkan's revered Phantasy Sound label. Written with Matt Waites (formerly of Nightmoves), "Virtual Lover" is a catchy homage to the Latin-tinged freestyle pop of the early '80s (think early Madonna or Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam). On the digital flip Detroit's' Jimmy Edgar turns the original's warm flesh into cold mechanics for a vocodered electro banger.
