Review:
Nibe provides a couple of delicately balanced tracks on the Subdepth label; "Hypnotise Me", much as the title suggests, combines tinkling melodies and seductive whispering with rumbling bass and rippling rhythms to create an air of intrigue. There's wood block beats in there, used sparingly, amongst a synth-driven melody and layered soundscape. "A Long Time", too kicks off with an eerie vocal sample, synth wash and ticking percussion, before falling into a pumping late night number, full of mystique and harking towards some classic 90s house sounds at times but bringing the contemporary love for all things bass-y to the foreground. Tidy.
