Review:
Hot on the heels of Maribou State's excellent Olivia EP come this collection of remixes of the title track. The hotly tipped Pedestrian opens proceedings with a deep reworking of the original which stays fairly true to its 2-step roots, keeping the textures organic and retaining the rhythmic playfulness of the original. Lee Mortimer meanwhile turns in a chunky, big room revision, which goes from thundering kicks into a schizophrenic laser-bass in the blink of an eye. Finally, Mao delivers a slow-building affair which is packed with subtle autumnal tones but all the punch of the original. Some wildly differing revisions here, and the package is all the better for it.
