Review:
Brooklyn isn't perhaps the most obvious place to find a producer schooled in the crackly atmospherics of German deep house and European techno. Yet that's exactly where occasional TronicSole man Billy Shane resides, bucking the hipster disco trend with compositions aimed squarely at Berlin basements. Opener "Fahk" throws early Orbital melodies and classic prog house atmospherics into an off-kilter deep house brew, while "Opan" tries the same trick with the heavy pulse of early 90s techno. "Tight", on the other hand, is all wonky sounds, slipped beats and nightmarish synths.
