Ukranian label Wicked Bass Records here present a reissue of Parris Mitchell's essential classic "All Night Long", the X-rated lyrics of which have been a staple of many a DJ's bag since 1995. Although displaying the raw qualities of ghetto house, it's a track that nevertheless carries a finesse that harks back to an earlier time, with remnants of 80s piano house and fragmented disco breakdowns embedded within. It's joined by new original production and collaboration with Shinoby, "Bounce", which carries a percolating acid line around a series of wailing sirens and jerking elastic piano chords holding the whole thing together. The label's masterstroke however is hiring Night Slugs co-owner Bok Bok - a notable ghetto house admirer - to deliever his own take on the track. It's is a perfect revisiting of the source material, one that walks the line between abrasive and elegant, adding a heavyweight clang behind the piano line which gives the impression that the original's been submerged into a tank of water and shaken profusely.
