Review:
As prolific as he may be, this is actually Herve's debut album. Well, it is under this name; we'll ignore the fact he's caused all sorts of speaker juice as Young Lovers, The Count & Sinden and Machines Don't Care, this is his first proper album under his most popular name. The big question is, it is any good? Well of course it is. Very good, in fact. This is largely down to his fine balancing act of eclecticism and consistency; the very first two tracks prove this - from the string-soaked, bass-caked opener "Glooming" to the epic, synth-struck vocal smasher "Better Than A BMX", his understanding of contemporary club bruisers and blissed out electronica is second to none. Other highlights include the 90s homage "Blamalama", the mosh-worthy guitar-bless dubstep wig-out finale "Keep Your Head Inside" and the Fake Blood-esque farty bass work out "Gnarly". Now pick yourself up, calm yourself down and sort yourself out with this debut!
