Sylvain Peltier has just a few releases to his credit, but on this EP, he sounds like a seasoned veteran. "Oo D" is a killer peak time groove. Inspired by the dense, scattergun funk of Detroit producer Stacey Pullen and the relentless drive of Technasia, its firing percussive rhythm leads into a cavernous breakdown. While "Oo D" will be hugely effective for DJs, the title track is also impressive. Favouring a more subtle approach, Peltier delivers immersive dubby sounds, but doesn't forget the need to satisfy DJs - and despite its atmospheric style, sees a driving kick weave its way in and out of the arrangement.
