Review:
Daniel Lopatin and Joel Ford's Software imprint should be filed away under "must check" in your record label database by now, and they once again impress with a debut EP from young producer Ian Evans, aka Napolian. Showcasing a shimmering, synth-laden style reminiscent of his label bosses collaboration as Ford & Lopatin, the L.A. based producer weaves all manner of clipped vocals and beats, with the stuttering "New World" a particular highlight, sounding like Roule-era Thomas Bangalter played at 33rpm. The more contemplative moments, like "Ascension" and "Rejoice" will make your heat soar. Recommended.
