Review:
More unpredictable than a European stock exchange, this compilation veers wildly in sounds and styles. Indeed, it sounds like Beat Rude have sought to please a range of tastes. At one end of the spectrum sits "2 My Groove" by Muddworxx, which sounds like a modern proggy take on the classic house anthem "Hell's Party" - the inspiration behind Urban Cookie Collective's "I Got The Key". At the other end there's the beautifully introspective break beat techno of Payda's "Lights". Elsewhere Doublas Dulaqua lets loose with "Sou Maria", a piano and brass-led Latino house groove, and Catope drops a tripped out vocal sampling groove, "Adrenaline Shoot".
