Review:
Following his flirtation with minimal, Just Be is a new studio project for Matthew 'Bushwacka' B, with a focus on percussion-heavy dance floor tools. The title track features dense, dubby drums and driving, unflinching hats providing a master-class in dance floor functionality. Listen closely however, and you'll hear spaced out vocal samples, similar to those that prevailed on Bushwacka's older releases on Plank and End. "Touch Me" repeats this approach, albeit with more rolling drums and niggling percussion. "Hold On, Wait A Minute" opts for a dubbier sound, while not losing the tripped out, slightly eerie elements that make Bushwacka such a distinctive producer.
