The Shure PG56 is the industry standard close-mic instrument recording microphone, tuned specifically for drum applications. Similarly to the rest of the renowned pg range, it's cardioid polar pattern picks up the most sound from in front of the microphone, and some sound from the sides. As a result, it is less susceptible to feedback in a high-volume environment.

It's tailored frequency response is smooth and extended, making it ideal for all the dynamics and tones a drum kit can throw at it. Even with harsher snares or toms, it handles extreme volume levels without distorting for a detailed, clear response at all times.
