Review:
With praise ringing in his ears from the likes of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Raphael Saadiq, BBE regular Slakah The Beatchild returns with an expanded version of his recent Something Forever set. There are four typically starry bonus cuts, all dripping with soul, but these are mere icing. For those with a passion for hip-hop soul and underground R&B, Something Forever should be essential listening regardless. Through a mix of impeccable instrumentals, delirious club fare and smooth vocal cuts (check the brilliant "Things I Do (For Her)", Slakah offers up a soul album that delivers from start to finish. If you've yet to tune in to his sound, now's the time.
