Review:
Clearly fans of The Wire, Avon Stringer are a house duo who pool their skills into the euphoric filter-funk into new single "Spunky Shades". With an old-school Todd Terry beat and a simple chopped Rhodes and guitar loop layered on top, they create a blistering builder that's sure to appeal to fans of Treasure Fingers or Tensnake. Mind Electric add a dirty tech bassline on their remix, while Holmes John gives "Spunky Shades" a loud, echo chamber treatment on his rerub.
