Review:
Having bonded over a deep love of Chicago's musical heritage, Kris & JP from South of Roosevelt have spent the past few years steadily building up their steez as house producers, with this latest EP showcasing their styles nicely. The tightly-looped jack-funk of "Gimme A Taste" is a great opener, while "Everytime We Dance" is a disco-loopin' delight with a brilliantly vital vocal dropped over the top. Continuing the jazz theme running through "Gimme A Taste", the duo sample trumpets over a filtered-down and rumbling bassline on "It Comes From", while "Sale & Consumption" adds a touch of glitch to the uplifting and soulful jack beat.
