Review:
A very interesting release here. Sweet Valley is a side project by Nathan Williams, key member of San Diego beach punk band Wavves. At points it's very J Dilla with its crude but captivating sample mastery ("Malibu Games"), at other times it's more organic and almost folklike with an Animal Collective charm ("Total Carnage") and at others it's just outright bizarre, blending an almost dubstep mentality with circus fan fares and East coast 808s ("Dunk Dreams 95"). An ear-melting collection right from the leftside.
