Biome's previous platters are full of ominous sonic shadows. As great as they've been, it's always refreshing to hear an artist flip the switch. Like "Swan", a true spectrum of studio shades, each one of them crisp and sparkling with well produced light. Emotive, uplifting and loaded with unidentifiable warm warped bass tones, it's a new chapter for this ever-reliable newcomer. As ever with Smokin Sessions, there's a fine remix as Versa takes the heart-stroking chords, adds a subtle two-step and gets all daydreamy in melody land. Beautifully deep, this is a hallmark release for both Biome and Smokin Sessions.
