Fresh out of Johannesburg come Hypomaniacs. An edgy boy/girl duo with a serious penchant for the aggressive, hard-as-lorries side of the dance, their vocal-led sound ruthlessly melts electro, trance, punk and dubstep with uncompromising glee. Throughout the EP Stacey's voice is a dominant force in the mix, driving the message home as their beats sparkle and stab with expert production precision. Eight tracks are on offer, in total - four of their own, four remixes. Our highlight is the almost Fischerspooner-meets-Skunk Anansie-meets-Knife Party vibes of "There's No Way Back". Get your wiggle on. Get your mosh on. This superbly varied EP suits all sorts.
