Review:
It's been a quiet year for Tectonic with only releases from Pursuit Grooves and Jack Sparrow making a ripple in the waves of 2010. This exceptionally heavyweight release should rekindle matters somewhat. Bristolian Jakes, label boss of HENCH, crafts a frantic dark and subby bass growler on "Times End" replete with a killer atmosphere building drop and gunshot assisted steppa riddim which packs a real punch. Flip over for the return of Darqwan, Oris Jay's alias for crafting sinister sonic textures, last seen in 2008. On "Jah Wan" Darqwan drops clunking metallic percussion on a backdrop of schizoid acid basslines and vocal snatches. Nice work Tectonic.
