There's no doubt that 2012 has been Waze & Odyssey's year. In the nine months since the turn of the year, they've gone from unknown deep house producers to celebrated garage revivalists. This is thanks to a series of releases that catch the zeitgeist whilst sounding like they could have been made in 1992. "Turn The Volume On" is another killer in the same mould, delivering thunderous (but swinging) drums, "Show Me Love"-ish riffs and just the right amount of cut-up vocal samples. "Rejected" tweaks the formula slightly - check the loose drums and relentless chiming melodies - but still sounds like it was designed to make people lose it in New York basements somewhere around 1994. Given the current climate, both tunes will no doubt be massive.
