Review:
Dubstep albums are a tricky beast. They need to be manipulated and programmed with real care to maintain enthusiasm throughout, but Canadian bass upstart Datsik doesn't just persuade you into the full length experience, he insists on it. Shoving an entire rainbow of rave into his screaming, glitchy bass machine, he sets the controls to max power with raw, untamed bangers such as the Mario Brothers-at-Fantazia flavoured "Need You" and the trippy Toytown twangs and bubbling subs of "Light The Fuse". Watch out for some interesting collaborations along the way as he locks horns with the likes of Z-Trip for a swinging, trippy eastern drumstep twang "Double Trouble" and causes an unlikely roadblock with Korn's Jonathan Davis and erstwhile psychedelic trance kings Infected Mushroom for the hair-raising "Evilution". A lesson in dubstep albumology.
