Review:
Having dropped some seriously impressive remixes for the folks at Skint (as well as Toolroom and Rocstar) recently, upcoming house-don Sonny Wharton finally drops a tune of his own on the south-coast label in the shape of "We Ain't Done Yet". Combining Riva Starr-esque rhythms, a hyped vocal from Mr. Eyez and a looped hook that slowly burrows into your brain, it's simply perfect - as is the dub that's also included if you prefer a more extended, vocal-free, treatment. A garagey rerub comes courtesy of Londoner Jack Dixon, which will appeal to Brackles/Joy O fans, while cheeky Scousers The Beatmonkeys drop a '92-reminding raved-up mix that combines old-school pianos, sampled breaks and some simply enormous bass shuffles.
