UNSTABLE COMPOUND - Wonder remixes (Front Cover)
Review:
Bologna badman Unstable Compound goes under the knife for this collection of interesting reversions. Marching across the very frontier of dubstep, each of the reinterpretations shows how much untainted deep space remains to be explored in the experimental pastures of sub-frequency sounds. The lead track "Wonder" gets two adaptations; a somnambulant lullaby from Squarial (watch out for the percussive switch mid-track!) and a soft-play glitchy roller by Epitome. Reflecting the EP's sonic span neatly with those two re-rubs alone, the remaining takes by the likes of Ezra, Apes On Tapes and Jean Renault each tick numerous leftfield bass boxes. Startling fresh, this is a well curated collection.
