ROSARIO, Ralphi feat XAVIERA GOLD - You Used To Hold Me (remixes) (Front Cover)
Review:
No one is quite sure how many times Ralphi Rosario's 1987 Chicago house anthem "You Used To Hold Me" has been re-released, but it must be in the hundreds. This edition features brand new remixes from Spiritchaser and Stephan Grondin & Alain Jackinsky. The former impresses most, delivering a string of pleasingly loose, organ-heavy rubs that recall the halcyon days of New Jersey garage. While the vocal mixes will be the most-played - Xavier Gold's vocal still sounds fantastic, of course - we're big fans of the Dub and Dubstremental versions. Meanwhile, Grondin and Jackinsky deliver two slammin' versions that fix grouchy electro riffs to muggy tribal drums.
