Review:
Originally released last December, Zinc's Sasha Keable-fronted electro wriggler "Only For Tonight" gets the remix treatment from TEED (low-swung, sludgy bass jack session) and the up-and-coming Maison Sky (warped garage with trippy pitched down vocals, oddball percussion and waspish bass). In case you and the original aren't familiar yet, it's here in both its soul-coated vocal glory and naked bouncy instrumental state.

Review:
Its time for some party electro sounds once again with volume 10 in X-Beats 'Dance Reworks' series. With six tracks on offer at a bargain price they are all about bringing a euro dance flavor with plenty of catchy hooks, recognizable samples and above all else plenty of fun. Highlights for us are; 'Swede Nothing' (their take on the Florence smash), 'Beauty And The Beat', and 'Leaving You', but every single one of the them is ready to win over the commercial floors and do the damage. Grab these in time for the weekend!!

With plenty of heat and hype building from the underground and streets, the talented singer/rapper Zee Musiq gets the full club remix treatment for her latest single 'High'. With support across Radio 1xtra and Rinse she looks set for big things and these cool and classy remixes from the likes of DJ SKT make for a really nice soulful house moment, bringing plenty of summer vibes. Her songwriting and smooth vocals flow effortlessly with the housey flavours, and there's also a very of-the-moment UKG mix from Crezza, as well as a big room cut from Tucka. All bases covered on this solid release, and we are tipping Zee Musiq for big things this year. Lock in and get to know!!

Review:
If there was ever a label that can throw together a killer progressive and psy compilation its Denmark's Iboga. Long standing pioneers of both genres and still a flagship for what's hot right now (and in the future). Of late they have unearthed some exciting new talent to boost the plethora of long standing established names on the books. Here we have a massive 15 tracks for a cut price, with everyone from Perfect Stranger, and Felguk, through to Beat Bizarre and Spektre. Just a couple of the highlights include 'Knockdown' from Weekend Heroes & Jerome Isma-Ae, Andrea Bertolini ' Headed In Crimea', and Riktam & Bansi 'Lesson'... Get stuck into this lot!

Review:
Having spent a good few years cultivating his hybrid bass-led sound, Rob Davies commits to a full-length to further expand on the spacious, atmospheric tones that his prior singles have always gravitated towards. There's a delicate touch at work, from the gossamer drop on "Hart" to the expressive slithers of synth on "Arrow Tune", and even when the beats are falling hard and clattering, there's a supple feeling to Davies' constructions. The tracks maintain the forward-momentum of techno even as they embrace all manner of rhythms and tempo, while the melodics celebrate the possibilities afforded by digital production without compromising on depth and warmth, making for a wholly captivating debut LP.

Review:
With the smell of spring in the air and the talk and anticipation building for the summers festival and Ibiza seasons, the on form Silk Royal label have been putting out some great records to get us even more excited. Here we have what is sure to be a summer smash from Helsinki's Our Stolen Theory, with it's captivating and memorable male vocal and the most uplifting of melodies. The lead remix comes from Mike Shiver & Johan Vilborg who beef it up direct for the floors. We are also feeling the proggier, and infectiously warming cut from Nigel Good which brings even more sunshine to any day and will work across the board from house to trance. Yet another fine release from Silk Royal, now where is the sun and BBQ at?

Review:
America's Tritonal have been making serious waves over the past year or so, with their close association with the Enhanced label playing a key part in their steady development to now be ranked in the elite. Here they present four new cuts of one of the standout tracks from their 'Metamorphic' EP. The unique tones of vocalist Underdown plays a key part in all these, with the pair leading the charge with their own up tempo and power synth festival mix that will raise the atmosphere and blood pressure. We are feeling the crunchy cut from US upcoming producer Ken Loi with plenty of attitude working in contrast with the big melodies. A more twisted and darker interpretation from Sebjak is also well worth a spin.

Nick Warren is one of the key seminal electronic DJ and Producers, still flying the flag worldwide. From groundbreaking compilations with Global Underground, to releases on Renaissance, and of course being one half of Way Out West.. This guy has done it all. His latest on Hope (a label he A&R's) is surely inspired by recent tours of Argentina as to be expected, it is sheer class. Uber cool proggy rhythms and a sound so refined it already sounds like a classic. Some great remixes to choose from too.. So dive right in!

Review:
This is one for the heads, quality techno meets progressive bringing the sounds of Detroit and Tokyo together. These tracks are spacey and atmospheric, tailor made for those smoke filled underground floors. Title track 'Blue Love' has a captivating vocal from Erika Tele which floats beautifully above the bubbling beats and bassline while a soaring string glistens through. There is a dub for the vocally shy, and also included is the brilliant Cafe mix of 'Dark Deceptions' for those really deep and twisted moments. A big EP of raw electronic music which will both educate and entertain!

Review:
Making his debut on the iconic Bonzai recordings is promising youngster Concealed Truth from Greece. No doubt a lover of the label for many years his sound feels perfectly at home on the imprint. 'Smooth Rain' is a deep and moving progressive cut which takes you on a journey into the depths of the jungle, with eerie fills and hypnotizing atmospherics, birds tweeting and raindrops falling it's a treat on the senses. For 'Pink Slip' he cleverly switches up into something with a little more floor power, with extra pace, punchier percussion and an all-round lighter feel, while keeping plenty of that mystic beauty. Great debut EP, one to watch!

London's Alex Metric is one of those rarities in a producer who flirts with various genres and refreshingly becomes un-pigeon-hole-able. From house to progressive to disco, and at the moment with EPs on Skrillex' OWSLA to this on his more traditional tip for French label Compuphonic. We loved the original, and now these remixes one again up the game. On the retro disco vibe it is all about Olivers mix, however for the progressive and house heads out there head for the wonderfully smooth Fingerpaint remix or the deeper and pacier cut from Dosem.. We are loving this!!

Review:
This label is fast becoming one of our favourites, having smashed it on recent releases from Mehmet Akar,
Bastards of Funk and Ivan Jaime & Luis Bondio. We have another double header here, in the form of a collaboration between Adam Shaw & Dale Middleton. Once again blurring boundaries between tech house and progressive, with a strong dancefloor edge. 'Nate' leads the charge with its shuffly percussion and deep bass sounds twisting and turning throughout the simplistic arrangement. One the flip 'French Ears' picks up the tempo, musicality and allround dynamics, making it our pick of the two. Both well worthy of peaktime plays.. Check them out! | ||
