With British summertime upon us, thoughts invariably start wandering to balmy evenings, open-air parties and summer jaunts to sunnier climes. Clearly, Swedish beatmaker and edit king Beatconductor is in the same headspace, because this two-track rework release oozes laidback summery charm. "Sunshine Love Dub" sets the tone, adding dense Latin-infuenced percussion and dubbed-out horns to a jaunty 1980s dub rhythm. Throw in a sumptuous vocal discussing "sunshine in my life" and you've got a deliciously warm and toasty charmer. Arguably even better is "African Woman", a hazy blast of loose-limbed afrobeat that rises and falls in all the right places, with righteous horns wrapping themselves around a deliciously warm and attractive rhythm.
