Review: Since emerging from the shadows after a couple of hugely popular white labels in 2009, the Silver Columns - aka Johnny 'Pictish Trail' Lynch and Adem - have been the talk of the electro pop town. With an album out at the end of the month, here we see the first single "Cavalier", which showcases their heavenly accented Scottish vocals and knack for sublimely catchy and insouciant melodies. Remixes come from Astronomer aka Alex Egan - a former recipient of the coveted Juno Plus 'Ones to Watch' tag - who turns "Cavalier" it into a washed out, Depeche Mode style number. The Time & Space Machine keeps the percussion tight and spacey, with loping strings, pitched down vocals and some lovely piano lines.

Review: Praised by the likes of Fatboy Slim, Craig Charles and Fake Blood (Wiseguys), it's no surprise that this rising producer evokes the spirit of the 90s. With four albums under his belt already, Hoy knows what he's doing and "Bouncework" is a great example of his production skills; taking a very Fatboy sounding track and adding a bit of modern fizz into the mix. While maybe not being strictly true these days, "Everybody Wants To Big a DJ" has 'festival favourite' written all over it. Ramshank deliver a killer, rough-as-you-like electro-house monster remix that stands out a mile as an EP highlight.
