Review: Some of Carl Craig's most rewarding output has focused on introspection - check Landcruising if you're in any doubt - and he explores this terrain on Just Another Day to devastating effect. "Darkness" is a brooding wash of synths and chords, which rise and ebb spectacularly, while "Sandstorms" and the attendant C2 remix explore the string-soaked builds of his contemporary techno approach, only without the pounding beats. The real highlight however is "Twilight"; starting off as a jazz-tinged ambient composition it flirts with the kind of widescreen emotive melodies Derrick May pioneered on "Icon". Highly recommended.

Review: Third Ear continue their fine form by giving us a remastered reissue of two remixes which have inspired just about everyone in the game. Both versions of "Falling Up" are given an ante up by Stefan Betke and although there isn't really a way to make these tracks any better, the man does a fine engineering job indeed! Carl Craig's take on it is almost too much of a classic to be described into words - if you haven't heard it then shame on thou! Theo Parrish has similarly created a timeless infusion of atmospheric broken beats and deliciously placed sample snippets. Oh my, we've fallen in love all over again at Juno HQ!

Review: One of Carl Craig's trillion monikers is Paperclip People and here, the Detroit don serves up the 4 My Peepz EP on his own label Planet E, remixed by two of the biggest names in the game: Dubfire and Loco Dice. Pounding, head strong and dirty techno is on the menu and Dubfire's rework of "4 My Peepz", despite its almost hip-hop-esque title, sticks firmly to the underground with its heavy kick drums and whirring sirens. Up "Parking Garage Politics" gets a remix from Loco Dice; minimal and sparse as it is, it's constructed in just the right way as it builds and progresses into a thoroughly hypnotic affair - Juno's pick of the two. Highly recommended stuff.

Review: Following the acclaimed Tini album come these diverse remixes. Carl Craig's take on "My Shine" sees the Detroit veteran in minimal mode, as ominous vocals and dense, hissing percussion are combined with tough techno beats. There are no dramatic strings or epic synth sweeps, just the unflinching repetition of Craig's metronome beats. At the other end of the spectrum is Pulshar's take on "Mine Has A shower", where detached but breathy vocals linger like cigarette smoke over swirling, seductive synths. Finally, Martin Buttrich drops an inspired take on "Blond Galipette". The German producer's drums are sleek and functional, but the French vocal is sensual and flirtatious, making for an alluring combination of the robotic and primal.
