Emergent troublemaker Powell slides over to Liberation Technologies with a singular take on electronic music that further justifies the attention he's been receiving. "Fizz" comes on with a deranged kind of comedy lying under the surface of its driving New Wave beat that at times calls to mind the irreverent genius of Mr Bungle as much as it does Cabaret Voltaire. "Wharton Tiers On Drums" sheds the thick basslines and leaves room for a wealth of sonic detritus to cough and splutter, with an excellent in-the-room live feel to the production which adds to the overall punkiness of the EP. Decimating proceedings with a manic skit in the shape of "Beat", Powell once again summons the daemons of old into a fresh and invigorating cocktail.

Originally released last October, Mokujin's dark 'Question EP' was a troubled but inspired post-dubstep release. Now Blaq are giving it a re-run with a host of new mixes. The mood hasn't lifted (why should it?) but the tunes are a little more dancefloor-friendly. Highlights include the creepy halfstep vibes of the 808 Fizz version, the deep retro houses of the Love Bites dub and the mangled, future urban beats of the Tuna Fizz version.
