Review: Whisking you off to a faraway island, "Continental Drift" starts this quality, varied four-track EP off nicely. With a soulful Rhodes melody, lush pads and deep bassline, the track keeps things interesting throughout. "Nil By Mouth" on the flip side, continues proceedings with deep and dark sub heavy basslines, Rhodes melodies, organic hand claps and bongo rhythms. A fast synthy melody in the background drives the track along, giving it a much needed sense of urgency. "Over Again" switches up the style slightly, with a darker, techy feel, while "Captured" rounds things off perfectly with its skull-smashing breaks, brain-curdling distorted basslines and intricate fills. Dancefloor destroyer!

Review: Goldie's right hand man gets on the buttons for a truly rambunctious release on Charge. "The Verdict", up first, kicks off with a bleepy intro with crisp drums, dropping into a wobbly rumbling main tune, with cavernous SFX, gritty b-line and mid range grizzle with tight, ticking drums setting the pace. "Under World", on the other hand, builds from an eerie intro, with whispering, whirring atmospherics and ominous sci-fi samples into an Original Sin-esqe effort with dancefloor-driven beats. Fans of Heist's previous work will love this for sure.

Review: Long-time wobble specialists, Serum & Heist, team up for a slice of upfront D&B destruction on this latest Co Lab release. With some nicely filtered choppy samples and heavy hitting drums, Heist's remix of "Souped Up" is armour enough for the dancefloor, however it's the flip, "Rum Goblin", which provides the aural stimulation here. The David Axelrod-esque samples give the tune an organic feel that synths just can't convey. Don't be fooled by the lush, spine-tingling intro though - the bass and drums are still truly damaging.

Review: Hero No 7 were leading lights of the UK mash up/party cuts scene of the late 90s even going so far as having a track featured on The Herbaliser's Fabric mix cd. They also run their eponymous record label and here we have a 13-track compilation of their (own) output, which also includes some of their best remixes of other acts. Sounding surprisingly fresh, we find that perky breakbeats fused with snippets of found vocals and vintage funk samples are the order of the day. Standout tracks include the moody "Black Mountain" and the eerie "Futuristics".
