A modern house compilation in every sense, Adviced House Goods Volume 1 sees new and established artists serving up a diverse mix of grooves. From the insistent disco cut-up of the 'Kid's Trick' remix of Kid Massive's "Turn It Up", to the rolling drummy groove and hissing percussion of Dapayk's take on Rainer Weichold's "Jerk Chcks" - an interpretation that is undoubtedly inspired by trips to Panorama Bar and Berghain - it covers a lot of ground. However, Adviced is also rooted in the sound of now and that means a smattering of toolish grooves, some acid-fried, others litters with muffled vocal snippets from Ralph Good, Idriss Chebak and Steve Kid.
Okay, so this isn't quite the progressive sound Sasha & Digweed helped sensationalise all those years ago. But is a sound really progressive if it doesn't move on and develop? It really makes you think doesn't it. Almost as much as this selection will make you or your dancefloor move. 40 tracks in total, this is a full-on fiesta that peaks and troughs with hair-raising attention to detail. From Brooklyn Bounce & Splash's bleepfest "Party Bounce" to Jesse Voorn's touching, emotional work out "4 Music 4 Life" no groove is left unturned. See you later. We're off to Brazil.
