Review:
Ben Klock's contribution to the Fabric series marks his coming of age as a DJ. The Berghain resident is known for his marathon, often pounding sets, but Fabric 66 sees him condense many of the elements that he covers over a twelve-hour period at the club into just over 70 minutes without losing his flow. From the spiky, bleepy rhythms of DVS1 to the midnight stepping rhythm of Burial's landmark "Raver", fellow Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann's visceral "Allies" and the big room percussive groove from Planetary Assault Systems, the mix takes in many of techno's diverse hues and shades. That Klock also manages to throw a few curveballs into the mix, like Rob Hood's gospel house as Floorplan or Mathew Jonson's neon trance, speaks volumes for his abilities.

Review:
In an era when considered eclecticism is all the rage, Hessle Audio founder Ben UFO still stands out. He's long been considered one of electronic music's more interesting DJs, seemingly able to weave together disparate sounds and styles into a logical, entertaining whole. This contribution to the FabricLive series shows him at his masterful best, utilising the simple pleasures of rhythm to weave together 28 thrilling and thoughtful selections. In the space of 70 minutes, he somehow manages to fuse sparse electro with classic acid house, murky post-dubstep techno with tribal African rhythms (and sharp '80s proto-house synths), Mr Fingers with Shackleton, stripped analogue techno with tactile futurism, and locked grooves with crystalline electronica. Truly, it's a tour de force.

Review:
The techno deity that is Anthony Child, aka Surgeon, compiles the 53rd instalment of the vaulted fabric mix series and my, isn't it something. Fusing tough, raw techno and dubstep, Child takes us on a relentless journey that unites the work of Scuba, Ital Tek and Instra:mental with Mark Broom, James Ruskin and a healthy slew of his own productions. The pounding, bone shattering drop into the Al Tourettes & Appleblim remix of Planetary Assault Systems "X Speaks To X" sums up what Surgeon is all about on this mix - the interbreeding of two genres into one serious workout. Indeed, his chosen moniker has never appeared so apt, cutting and slicing seemingly disparate beats into one flowing narrative. This mix is easily as essential as any of its predecessors, and that's saying something.

Review:
Ben Klock is Berghain's DJ's DJ and Marcel Dettmann is the club's purist, but Norman Nodge is the teacher. Without the lawyer, family man and DJ's influence, it is arguable whether the Berlin club where both reside would enjoy the same kind of global profile. Nodge's DJing played a central role in shaping the club's musical aesthetic. Mixing classic house and techno styles with contemporary variants, his selection veers from the wild abstractions of Birds Two Cage and Oni Ayhun to the explosive white noise intensity of Planet Assault Systems' take on The Nightripper's "Tone Exploitation" and the stomping industrial techno of Charlton's "Black Slong". While Nodge is clearly an expert in building a set, he doesn't simply ramp up the tempo and cruise to a predictable climax. Nodge follows the PAS/Charlton segue with the gnarly rhythms and chain mail percussion of Ctrls and Chance 'Chancellor' McDermott, but then drops into the trippy acid and infectious vocals of Tim Taylor & DJ Slip's "New York Minds". He follows this shift in sound with Radioactive Man's melodic electro bass and Legowelt's warm synth version of Xosar's "Rainy Day Juno Jam", bringing to a close Berghain's most impressive mix yet.

Review:
David Kennedy, aka Ramadanman/Pearson Sound - one of the most talked about electronic artists of recent times - steps up with his highly anticipated mix, marking the 56th instalment of the fabriclive series. Amongst the almost exorbitant 30 track selection are 10 of Kennedy's own, signposted by explorations into dubstep, post-dubstep, house, funky, techno, grime, juke and all the unmapped areas in between which blend so perfectly to colour the Pearson Sound. Despite the brevity of time allowed for each track, the overall effect is not hurried. Essential!

Arguably the most recognisable of Panorama Bar's resident DJs, Steffi follows Cassy, Tama Sumo, Prosumer and Nick Hoppner in cooking up the fifth batch of tracks to make the Panorama Bar mix series. Exclusive material comes from Big Strick, Fred P, Dexter, Juju & Jordash and Steffi herself, while other house cuts come from former drum and bass staples Endian (Commix) and Trevino (Marcus Intalex). Other veterans to feature in the mix include DJ Skull with his original '93 pressing "Don't Stop The Beat", while Steven Tang's Obsolete Music Technology chips in with "Latency". Newer sounds come from Fear Of Flying's BLM, US-based deep house producer Chris Mitchell, DJ Fett Burger and Will Martin collaboration with John Barera; one half of Boston outfit B-Tracks.

Review:
The most shocking this about this mix from legendary techno DJ/ producer Dave Clarke is that it's his first for Fabric. So was it worth the wait? Certainly, it shows Clarke at his defiant best, effortlessly joining he dots between sci-fi electro and intense, darkroom techno with a smattering of sublime Detroitian moments thrown in. Along the way, he finds time to squeeze in some real gems, from the sparkling late night techno-funk of Kenny Larkin's sublime remix of the Marc Romboy/Paris The Black Fu collab "Dark & Lovely" to the no- holds-barred aural assault that is Stephane Signore's "Sacrifice". Moody and inspiring stuff, all told.
