Review:
PvD returned to his very best with last years 'Evolution' album, and with the more recent Remix edition. UK label partner 3Beat put full-focus on (one of the many LP highlight's) 'I Don't Deserve You' featuring Plump, with a whole host of new interpretations. The original lush piano (quite rightly) remains the linchpin to all the new cuts, as does the warming vocals of Plump. It's hard to choose from the mixes, Jerome Isma-Ae works it into his deep proggy sound, while the Italian stallion Giuseppe Ottaviani whips up a barrage of soaring melodies. Maor Levi & Bluestone also do the business in delivering power for the dance-floor. Plenty to get stuck into, successfully achieving the "tick every box" aim.

Italy's Gabriele Poso recently delivered his Roots Of Soul album, and such was the response, they've now decided to release a remix edition "A Night With You" is remixed by Yoruba twice: the house mix conjures up 70s Stevie Wonder with a pilled up salsa band (including over enthusiastic whistle blower) serenading diners in a open-air Euro restaurant. Their soul remix loses the heavy beats for a breezier rendition. Elsewhere, the Atjazz remix of the instrumental "Roots Of Soul" is classic Balearica and "With Me Come Fly (Dodi Palese)" is edgy trance with diva vocals.

Review:
Armin wastes no time getting stuck into the new year, with a brand new single which is to be the soundtrack to the forthcoming 'In Love with Ibiza' movie. What better producer to capture the beauty and emotion of the Island that makes everyone's summer. His electric lead line and nostalgic chord progressions work with a stunning vocal from Floria Cutler, which is sure to become a cult classic as well as an instant floor favourite. The dreamy Original is fairly chilled (which is where the beauty comes from), so Beat Service step up and delivery a pacier alternative that once again hits the spot.

Armin Van Buurens 'A State of Trance' radio show (and the large scale events, compilations, and everything else that flow from it) is without doubt the global flagship for trance music. Each and every week he handpicks the very best music setting the barometer for what's hot and what's not. Here we have 21 highlights for December which includes; Shogun 'UFO', 'Copperfield' from Orjan NIlseo, and Rank1 '7 Instead Of 8'. Not to mention the likes of; Marco V, Aly & Fila, Markus Schulz, and Lange.. We don't need to tell you how essential this is!

There are very few times where you produce a tune that doesn't fade away or become tired. A man who never seems to do anything but this is Matt Darey, and for his latest on S107 he looks back to 2009's enchanting vocal winner 'See The Sun' (originally under his Urban Astronauts guise, of course). The glorious musical elements of the original and Kate Louise Smiths stunning vocal are still in tact, as Egyptian Hazen Beltagui manages to capture the original essence and emotion whilst bringing a fresher proggy edge, bang up to date for the floors of now. See it more as a fresh lick of paint rather than a whole new trakc. If you want a bit more energy and punch Toby Hedges delivers on both counts with his cut, while completing the package is yet another faultless production from that Russian pair Moonbeam.

The later half of 2012 has seen trance legend Solarstone really pick up the pace again. Pushing things forward with his label group, releasing some of his finest singles in recent times, and now this brilliant compilation to round things off perfectly. Compiled by the man himself with two discs (one mixed by Orkidea), 'Pure Trance' does what it says on the box, showcasing all corners of the genre. Highlights across the 30 tracks include; Temple One 'In Her Eyes', Ronski Speeds mix of 'Euphonia', and Michael Cassette's remix of Orkidea 'Sun Dow'. There is of course plenty of showings from Solarstone himself.. You need this in your life!

Release number 007 for the great Auxiliary, and aptly title 77 EP. Whether they were aiming for a secret agent feel to proceedings we're not sure, what we do know is that this EP contains four brilliant productions all with unique and captivating qualities to make them singles in their own right. German Ulrich Schnauss locks horns with label owner ASC and across all the tracks there is a clear influence from both individual sounds. Blissful soundscapes that have a lovely warmth and musical depth. Perhaps not for every dancefloor, but save these for sun-sets and sun-rises and your onto a winner, with '77' and 'Theta' being our top picks.

Ahead of his much anticipated forthcoming album 'If It Were You, We'd Never Leave', Brooklyn's Anjunadeep and Anjuabeats regular delivers one of his finest productions to date (which is really saying something). With support coming in from as wide a spectrum as Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank, it's fair to say he is looking outside the box. Featuring a stunning vocal performance from Norway's Ane Brun, which sits beautifully above his trademark dreamy layers, you are in for a real treat. The deeper and more atmospheric Ghosting Season mix is also worth checking.

There should be no hesitation for any trance (or dance music) fan in grabbing this instantly. Some 13 years after it's first release, the timeless classics from Solarstone not only defined an era, but a whole genre and is still one of the best loved anthems ever produced. Four new mixes come via Captivating Sounds kicking off with (our favourite) from the man himself on his aptly penned Pure mix, a subtle warming and freshening up to the modern day while keeping all the original beauty and emotiveness. Antillas & Dankann keep simplicity at the heart with a gentle deeper rerub, while Thomas Datt delivers a gloriously night uplifting take. A sure fire pleaser, and our essential tune of the moment!
