Anthem Alert!! There aren't many who have done as much for the trance scene as Solarstone, and his go to guy Orkidea has been around just as long (recently joining him mixing the 'Pure Trance' compilation). Where 'Liberation' really triumphs is on the Something Good Vocal mix, a tune that takes you back to the glory days of trance, rays of sunshine come from the arpeggiated catchy lead lines, and the nostalgic vocal sample is a delight. We have had this on repeat since first listen, one of our favourite tunes of the year!!

For more than a decade now, Italy's leading trance export Giueseppe Ottaviani has been Paul Van Dyk's go-to-guy. First hitting the scene as Nu NRG, he went onto sign to Vandit in 2001 with a€iDreamlanda€™. The sheer quality of production and his penchant for a spine tingling uplifting melody hasn't faltered. He is straight back in for the new year with the big room smash "Earthbeat". Trademark soaring synths, a relentless bubbling bassline, and warming pads lift this up amongst the clouds. With Armin penning it "a classic to be" you know your onto a good thing. Stadium sounds to set the clubs alight.

As time goes on, we seem to be entering a world of dance music that has less and less good quality uplifting trance. Over time the sub-genres have taken over as producers try to keep their music as across the board as possible. This makes the labels that champion good ol uplifting, all the more important.. and Trance All-Stars is at the very top of that pack. 'Your Distant World' from Simon O'Shine is a peak-time smash of euphoric goodness that was destined for the bigrooms of Crasher and Godskitchen, firing memories of the late nineties golden era straight back into your minds.. The weekend has landed!!

Review:
There seems to be an abundance of great uplifting melodic trance out there at the moment, which is lovely to see (and hear). Yet another fine moment to add to this is a new two track EP from Overseas. Following on from 'Liberty Island' and 'Apasia' we are treated to yet more awe-inspiring musical magic and emotiveness. 'Fallback' leads the way with its blissful synth patterns and wonderfully warming pads keeping plenty of oomph in the pacey percussion and classic rolling bassline. On the flip for 'Lot of Nothing' he drops down the bpm and euphoria somewhat for a stunning progger. Fear not those with a penchant for uplifting, as The Noble Six is on hand to cover that base.

Andy Moor's AVA Records (under the Armada umbrella) continues to deliver some of the very best vocal tracks around, and this from upcoming Ukraine based producer Omnia is an absolute gem. Deep, and progressive yet with plenty of energy to keep the floor moving. Melissa Loretta's emotive vocal (and in fact the all-round production) glows like a summer sun and will transport you to the beaches of Ibiza in an instant. Dan Stone ups the tempo on his mix, although surprises with a less uplifting approach than we're used to. There isn't much you could do to improve the Original though, and that's where all the beauty truly lies. One of the finest vocal trancers we have heard this year!!

Review:
It's been great to see a somewhat resurgence in what Solarstone himself has penned as "Pure" trance, with his recent compilation and signings across his labels pushing good ol fashion trance music. The equally pioneering, and his right hand man for many years, is Orkidea and for the latest single they dust of 'Pacifique' from the collection, a wonderfully warm and glistening showcase to the sound they are continuing to love and champion. It now comes with a fine selection of fresh takes, all from Finland and as part of his upcoming '20 Remixed' compilation. Although it's tempting to look no further than the brilliant 128 original, some great remixes are on offer with more pace and floor appeal, whilst keeping all the emotion and more importantly purity. For us Beetseekers smash it out the park, that said Antti Rasi, and Chantola's cuts are also worth checking!

Ukrainian youngster Omnia was without doubt one of the breakthrough stars of last year, with a string of big releases on the biggest labels out there and culminating in landing in the top 50 of the coveted Top 100 poll. He continues to let the music do the talking with this amazing track for Markus Schulz label. The instantly memorable lead line will be going around your head for days, not to mention destroying any dancefloor you unleash it on. Its bright, and full of life with a the track name perfectly reflecting the vibe. The beats are somewhat tougher than many of his previous productions fitting with the punchy melody. Already featured on Armins ASOT 2013 comp, this looks set to go all the way.

You know what your getting with Will Hollands' Enhanced label, with the trademark red sleeve acting as a massive stamp of approval, and on this killer collaboration between Ost & Meyer and 7 Skies they have gained instant Armin, and A&B approval too. Which is no surprise as this is a seriously fresh and effortlessly flowing track, keeping interest throughout, from the electro tinged bass and electric lines to the snappy percussion and choppy vox. The lead that kicks in at the break will send the atmosphere next level.. Infectiously feel good music!

A true (and somewhat rare) success story of the, producer-ran-record-label within a large empire, is John O'Callaghans Subcultre (via Armada). Over the past few years JOC's hands on approach has kept a perfect balance between new, and established talent with just the right amount from his own studio. This March collection is prime example, featuring; Ost & Meyer, Gareth Emery, KhoMha, Super8 & Tab, plus the Jorn Van Deyhnhoven remix of 'The Real You' from Dark Matters, and the banging Heatbeat cut of Parker & Hanson - 'Afterthought'. 16 full length tracks for just L7.49!!

One of just a handful of names worthy of legendary status in electronic music is original superstar DJ, Paul Oakenfold. A true pioneer for trance and the scene in general, his work rate and clear-cut passion doesn't falter even to this day. Here we have a brand new collection of tracks from his DJ Box (or should that be USB stick), on his own Perfecto label (now part of the Armada group). Highlights amongst this tasty lot include; Omnia & The Blizzard Remix of 'Phoenix From The Flames', Sean Truby & Craig Purvis 'Beyond The Horizon', and Tom Fall's remix of Temple One ft Neev Kennedy 'Love The Fear'.. Cop all 11 full length tracks for just L5.99!!
