Review: The Bare Selection team have gone out of their way to unleash one of the most potent collections of remixes we've seen in a hot minute with this fiery Flowdan display. First up on the tracklisting, Wize arrives with a futuristic, drill-inspired rethink of 'Plans In Motion', working together some angelic vocal layers with evil violins, before Marcus Visionary gives the same track a post-funky rethink, jam-packed with synthetic goodies. Next, Roska delivers a groovy overhaul of 'Pump Fake', using some typical Roska rhythmic mastery, Followed by Lijah's typically creative re-imagining, linking dissonant keys with smooth breaks. From here, Cassius Select arrives for another tribal-sounding overhaul, this time giving 'Light Work' a drum-heavy rearrangement, with Marcus Visionary making a second appearance with his grimey version of 'Eagle Cry', rounding off the project in style.

Review: Redlight isn't messing around, that's for damn sure. The Bristolian has already released on Mercury and Polydor, two major majors, and now he's back up on Lobster Boy with a new album! The "Intro" sets the scene perfectly to an LP that explores the various shades of house and club music, a start that falls neatly into a funky, seductive bassline house number in "Gold Teeth". "Lessons" offers listeners a bit more of a classic house sound, while cuts such as "Lion Jungle" - which features none other than Prodigy - verge onto more UK-centric, hip-hop-filtered sounds, and others like "Threshold" drop us into pop / r&b territories. The latter is particularly suited to radio playback, and it's no wonder why this guy has been released on such big labels.

Review: Rico Tubbs & Terry Hooligan are the Bass=Win Soundsystem. The story goes that while touring in the early days of seminal act Atomic Hooligan, Terry met Rico in his native Finland and they hit it off immediately. The Bass=Win Soundsystem is here and it's massive! This is their first collaboration in recorded form but this EP marks a special point in history for both the guys and their label. The EP draws heavily from garage, rave, breakbeat and bass music. There is three versions of "One and Only" whilst "Bring The Horns" does exactly that.

Review: Tumble Audio has been providing us with seriously killer bass music for a few years now, and here they celebrate reaching their tenth release by recruiting Roadman Joel to curate a selection of the kind of seriously heavy tunes you might expect to hear at one of their many label nights. There's a whopping 18 tracks on here covering a wide spectrum of British urban dance music, including Majora's ridiculously amazing tribal UKF monster "T&C's", A Motion's ghetto 2-step hybrid "Back In Your Love" and Sentiment's wobble-heavy tropical jam, "Change You".

Review: What better way to kick start the year than to land a lethal dosage of UK Funky on your own imprint, that also happens to be the finest in the game? That is exactly what Roska is up to as 'Better Be' delivers a squelching squeeze through west-coast style synth melodies and euphoric chord progressions, kicking off the EP with a high dosage of original funky energy. Next, 'Frustration' a more minimal take on the classic funky sound, focussing on uniquely designed synthesiser pokes and bass stabs, before the project draws to a close on 'Scribbles', a low-ended goliath that packs a serious punch for the ravers. After this many years at the top of the tree, it's safe to say there really is no better UK funky veteran!

Review: It's notoriously difficult to make albums of emotive, musically complex, club-friendly music, but Felix Clary Weatherall achieved it with his 2018 full-length debut as Ross From Friends, Family Portrait. This belated sequel hits all the right notes, too, skipping between heart-aching post-two-step deepness ('The Daisy'), lilting breakbeat-house warmth ('Revellers'), spaced-out, sample-heavy downtempo soul ('A Brand New Start'), tipsy, fuzz-fuelled outsider house oddness (the swelling 'Grub'), sunrise-ready ambient ('Morning Sun in a Dusty Room') and classic 1990s IDM-inspired electronica sweetness ('Thresho 1.0'). In other words, it's that rarest of beasts: a second album that's genuinely superior to its predecessor.

Review: We are absolutely loving the way that the Articulate imprint are making their start to 2019 as they hear unveil another bag of heaters right here right now. We are sure they are thrilled to be bringing Rukus to the forefront, who kick starts the project with the 'Binary' project with 'Dust', a phenomenal piece of musical composition, combining percussive rolls and subtly expansive scoring to create one of the most unique tracks we've heard in a long while. Following this, Magugu gets lively and joins the party with an exciting vocal on 'Flow', before the volcanic rhythmic structures of 'Haze' are set loose'. On remix duty, Cardinal Sound, Daze Prism, Ali McK & IYZ all put forward a tonne of creativity, rounding this one off perfectly.
