Nicolas Duque - "If I Were" - (5:54)
132 BPM Review: The Breaks 'N' Pieces team seem to have found a real nack when it comes to putting together high quality compilation pieces, with this second edition of their self-titled series providing us with some serious quality. First up, Highrise unleashes a rooftop wave-ready roller by the name of 'Summertime Breeze', followed by the broken beats and LFO bubbles of 'Intercom', which takes us back to an early Horsepower vibe. From here, Bartholomew Kind arrives with a smoothened D&B spray out entitled 'Manhattan', alongside the high energy drum skips and delicate bass textures of Nicolas Duque's 'If I Were'. Finally, Reynes delivers a fiery display of well arranged 2-step rhythms and darkened bass tones in 'Spike's First Flight', before the EP is rounded off by DJMC's retro ramp up in 'Morning'. A fabulous selection, showcasing the breadth of electronic capabilities within dance music!
