Review: In three years the Get Twisted operation has put out as many compilations, and on this one DJ Q delivers some thumping pop-step in "Dreams". Furthermore there's the deep and dark bassline house of "Cut It Push It" by Riddim Commission and Taiki Nulight, while H Two O's "Need You More" is a sublime slice of haunted electro-house. And for some tropical acid and warped R&B vocals check out "Gossip" by Nick Tee.

Dr Meaker feat Romaine Smith
Review: Bristol talent Dr Meaker has been rising through the D&B ranks for some years now, but this exhaustive package on New State looks set to be one of his finest moments to date; featuring the soulful vocals of Romaine Smith, "Don't Think It's Love" is a piece of rolling D&B fit for the top 40. The remixes accompanying (all nine of them including instrumentals!) are comprehensive to say the least; we have screface D&B from Mind Vortex, bassy house from Real Connoisseur, deep house inflected dubstep from Typesun, neon UK funky from Jus Now, a 90s house style rerub from TS7 and peak time electro house from Bitrocka - pretty much something for everyone!

Review: The Bare Selection team have gone out of their way to unleash one of the most potent collections of remixes we've seen in a hot minute with this fiery Flowdan display. First up on the tracklisting, Wize arrives with a futuristic, drill-inspired rethink of 'Plans In Motion', working together some angelic vocal layers with evil violins, before Marcus Visionary gives the same track a post-funky rethink, jam-packed with synthetic goodies. Next, Roska delivers a groovy overhaul of 'Pump Fake', using some typical Roska rhythmic mastery, Followed by Lijah's typically creative re-imagining, linking dissonant keys with smooth breaks. From here, Cassius Select arrives for another tribal-sounding overhaul, this time giving 'Light Work' a drum-heavy rearrangement, with Marcus Visionary making a second appearance with his grimey version of 'Eagle Cry', rounding off the project in style.

Review: The partnership between YoYo's Leo Greenslade and Bugz In The Attic's Alex Phountzi continues to grow. After some key releases and the formation of their own eponymous label, the duo really bring the heat with this new release, exclusive to Juno Download. Former SBTRKT and Redlight collaborator Roses Gabor lends an effusive vocal to this tropical-house delight, which comes replete with fearsome remixes. French Fries drops an icy bass tweak which hypnotically loops Gabor's vocals over some extremely flat bass hits, while the peerless Funkystepz get a real UKF buzz on with distorted booty bass and stacked snares. East Village acid freaks Cubic Zirconia also pitch in with a low down and dirty rerub that rocks the chorus hard over some gloriously psychy synths.

Review: The Breaks 'N' Pieces team seem to have found a real nack when it comes to putting together high quality compilation pieces, with this second edition of their self-titled series providing us with some serious quality. First up, Highrise unleashes a rooftop wave-ready roller by the name of 'Summertime Breeze', followed by the broken beats and LFO bubbles of 'Intercom', which takes us back to an early Horsepower vibe. From here, Bartholomew Kind arrives with a smoothened D&B spray out entitled 'Manhattan', alongside the high energy drum skips and delicate bass textures of Nicolas Duque's 'If I Were'. Finally, Reynes delivers a fiery display of well arranged 2-step rhythms and darkened bass tones in 'Spike's First Flight', before the EP is rounded off by DJMC's retro ramp up in 'Morning'. A fabulous selection, showcasing the breadth of electronic capabilities within dance music!

Review: Burnski's Instinct label is back and coming correct for the new year with another salvo of bassweight rudeness for the UKG revivalists. This Various Artists EP welcomes Holloway back to the label with the technical, nuanced flair of 'Acme' and Ease Up George's eerie, nerve-jangling 2-stepper 'Wicked'. Daniele Temperilli brings an edgy, looped up energy to his wayward stepper 'Smog', while Raynor smooths things out with the refined, heads-down roller and dub techno-speckled 'Round Off'. Demonstrating the exciting new pathways the current wave of garage is opening up, this latest Instinct EP is a must.
