Review: Have played gangsters all summer with Jenks, young jump-up talent ACP whips up a storm on Escalation Sound with 'The Wait'. Crisp and contemporary, each cut is chiselled down to the bare groove bone as he gets twisted in all kinds of gortty and alien ways. 'Bangers' is especially of note as he flexes on a sinewy lazer in an almost trippy and hypnotic way. 'Leg Bender' continues that flavour, too as a teasing dreamy intro drops into a frog chorus that's so greasy you need a shower just reading these words. Worth it.

Review: Oliver Dollar, a Berlin-based artist who first appeared on Rekids as a remixer in 2012, has returned to Radio Slave's label with his 'Strings for Life' EP. The EP's title track begins with rich and stirring strings that add soul to the track. The song is warm, euphoric, and built on a rocksteady disco groove, making it both familiar and classic. 'School Daze' is a loopy track with funky bass, jazzy chords, and timeless house drums topped off with a retro vocal sample. The EP's final track, 'Sophisticated Funk,' features an epic, emotive beatdown, and Dollar doubles down on the disco. Oliver Dollar brings a very different sound to Rekids with this EP, which is full of joyous and lush tunes.

Kaos first offers up his disco sample-heavy edit of Dangerous Dan and Nicky Night Time's 'Mystery' before we're treated to Solomun's hypnotic-but-loose-limbed early morning revision of Kaos's 'I Want To Be There'. His tweak of Daniel Wang and Erland Oye hook-up 'Lessons' is a hybrid deep house meets drowsy nu-disc affair, while 'Only Dead Men Are Free' is a fine fusion of Patrick Cowley style Hi-NRG grooves and elements of country classic 'Jolene'. Review: Here's something we didn't expect: a Nu Groove label debut from original breakbeat-house hero - and for a long time Layo's right-hand man - Matthew 'Bushwacka' B. Sonically it makes perfect sense, though, because the four cuts on show seem to have been inspired by the label's glory days in the late '80s and early '90s, as well as vintage UK deep house. 'Strictly Nu' is a rolling, sweat-soaked builder smothered in dreamy chords and underpinned by rubbery, oscillating synth-bass, while 'Love Can You' joins the dots between the Burrell Brothers and glassy-eyed warehouse dancefloors at 5am. 'Right Now' sees him blend his own funk-fuelled breakbeat-house rhythms with fluttering flute solos, loved-up vocal samples and warm chords, while 'True For You' is as gorgeous as it is tough and peak-time ready.

Review: With longer-play projects becoming more and more welcome again within the D&B space, this latest epic from the Pick The Lock crew sees Clarkey deliver six fiery spice boxes. Opening up with the awesome title track 'Intoxicated Dream', we are greeted by a fusion of clicky synth crunches and acidic drips, followed by the neurotic-influxes and percussive mastery of 'Step Up. Review: The summer of rave has landed and Demuja is here with Higher Places, a producer found on imprints like Skylax Classic, Shall Not Fade, Freerange and more. For his Aus Music debut he brings back a familiar rave motif to a banging new rendition of drums in "Work My Body". Next is a deeper, liquid club cut that is "Deep Inside Your Soul" with its classic pano effect while Demuja pays house music homage with "That Piano Track" - obviously. Closing the EP is a collaborative number with Kolter called "Bonzai" that's peppered with a techier and minimal sound, let's say from that Higher Place.

Review: Some dads clean up your mess. Other dads make you mess yourself. Other dads make the mess and expect you to clean it up. We don't even need to tell you what type of fathers Serum and Voltage are, but in case you're unaware of the mischievous influence they have on each other, let's just say they're not changing any nappies tonight. 'Pum Pum Rule' is a splat-and-dash dust-up with some of the funkiest drums the pair have ever programmed while 'Metamorphosis' takes us back to the late 2000s style of tear-up with very messy consequences. Watch out for volume two when they try and tell us about the birds and the bees. Eek.

Review: Although the first instalment of Larry Heard's 'Vault Sessions' series of EPs featuring rare and hard-to-find material specifically showcased tracks he produced in 1988, there's no rigid concept behind this sequel - but plenty of must-have gems from the deep house legend's bulging archive. The EP opens with 'The Time Is Now (Old School Mix)', a Heard-produced Felicia Williams single of old that's typically deep and sensual, before the Chicagoan offers Jordan Fields and Kevin Elliot's Club Zanzibar New Jersey-inspired 1995 dub of 'Premonition of Love'. Elsewhere, 'Andromeda Dub' sees Heard meld deep house, dub and sci-fi synth sounds, while DJ Mel's revision of all-time-classic 'Mystery of Love' is a rolling, percussive treat.

Review: Buoyed by the success of the Dimitri From Paris remixes of 'Space Talk', Naya Beat has decided to offer up more new reworks of classic cuts from the disco-era catalogue of Indian singer and actress Asha Puthli. Naturally Space Talk gets another tweak - Maurice Fulton delivers a sparse, percussive, dubbed-out take in his inimitable style -but there are plenty of revisions of lesser-celebrated cuts to enjoy. The title track sets the tone and juices up our balances with a sweet variety of jungle elements and the meltiest bassline Kendrick's whipped up so far in his career. Review: Next up from MPH, a trip over to AEI for another dance-inspiring five track outing, exploring the most fragrant areas of new school garage music from start to finish. We open up with the late-coming summer sounds of 'Crash & Burn', a beautiful link up with Lauren L'aimant, who lets fly a palpable box of vocal tricks. Next, a more breaks-driven idea as 'Overrated' sees chopped up drums and staunch subs meet, with the bouncy basslines of 'Show Me' and more subtle drum sweeps of 'Promise' then following in hot pursuit. We then check out the finale for the EP in 'Bad Day', a sumptuous combination of wistful vocals and tidily arranged drums, giving us a softened touch down to close.

Review: Long-serving producer Disco Tech has released more edits and reworks over the years than we've had hot dinners. Remarkably, he still continues to deliver on-point revisions - as this second volume in his ongoing 'Reworks' EP series proves. There's much to admire across the six tracks on show, from the atmospheric, slow-burn excellence of AOR disco revision 'Stars In The Ghetto' and the dub-funk wonder that is the James Brown-sampling 'Boss', to the peak-time '80s disco sing-along 'Take Time' and the on-point Clash dub disco revision 'Magnificent'. We also recommend 'Be With You', a deliciously groovy, dubbed-out take on a Doc Severinsen track that has long been a DJ Harvey favourite.

'Marked' takes the lead with a killer Tupac line and a swathing bassline that chops first and asks questions never. It sets the tone for the whole EP as Lord Uppers gets pacy and technoid on the deliciously trippy 'Stop N Drop', 'You Pussy' is a springy blitzer, all peppy and high range and 'I Don't Need Nobody' takes another iconic vocal and works some proper black magic around it. Review: Hydrated Audio's relaunch is off to a firing start. Having built up a powerful backlog of free downloads over the years, the UK crew now go full label mode with this savage session from Sam Pyro. Whipping up a raw, rough round-the-edges vibe throughout, Pyro's got his funk on with the raggo swagger of 'Sms' and the dark sensuality and sweet chops of the RnB sampling 'The Way U Get'. Need some grit in your life, but still love big swooping synths? 'Can't Give Up' is the tune for you. Finally 'Rave Ting' completes the EP with an absolutely walloping bassline that rockets out of a string/synth build-up with ridiculous energy. Pyro's got the heat right here.

Review: Man like Break in the house! Following his almighty album 'Digital World', the Symmetry bossman is back with some absolutely divine dnb flavours. 'Cocktail' says it all. Coming on strong like a Defcon-era Total Science, it's stark homage to the roots with brazen drums tuned to the most infinite degree. It's backed by plenty more heat; 'Juice It' comes with an ice cold sense of tension and a sudden splash of vocal you'll think you imagined. Too good. Deeper again we hit pure hardcore hedonism with the dark stabs of 'Vanishing Point' before 'Tell Me' closes the EP on more of a dreamy, euphoric note. Big love to Break.
