Review: And the award of the biggest collabo of the year goes to... Bou, Camo, Krooked, Mefjus, Mila Falls, P Money and D Double E with 'Swerve It'. A track you definitely won't be swerving, this is a huge fusion of everyone's styles brought together with incredible vocals (and strong shades of Mefjus in the bassline) Deeper into the EP we hit the delights of the B Live front 'Nan Slapper' before getting into some more old school style deep-in-the-mix Bou tunes; the grizzly globe trotting 'Malta To Ibiza', the pounding 'La Kasbah' and the high voltage sizzler '3 Letters'. Review: Heavyweight new-gen repping: BoujeeBass chomp down into 2024 with a walloping VA feast from family and friends. As with previous BoujeeBass dispatches, the vibe is firmly set on the heart of the dancefloor with big bassline energy and wig-scorching breaks from a roll call of future headliners. Highlights include the twist laser-bending funk of Azule & Shifu's 'Screw Loose', the head-turning shuffle and shake of Entei's totally unique 'Confusion', R!PT!DE's fully nutty rave twister 'Ring Ring' and the cheeky funk of Jenks's 'Rumble'. Killer package from some very talented new gen operators.

Review: Oh gosh! Every Welcome To The Jungle collection is a big deal but this latest edition from Euphonique and Dazee is a whole other rain forest. 96 tracks and a mix that weighs in over two hours, this is the sound of two of the most foremost and inspiring Bristol-based DJs going IN in every single direction. Loaded with a great range of classics, exclusives and left-of-centre vibes, highlights across this massive collection include Aries and Euphonique's massive 'Amen', Dazee & Jinx's 'Shake It Up', Sweetpea and Chickaboo's 'The Jump Off' and the recent skat-dancing fire-up 'Skip De Du Dat'. And that's not scratching the surface. This is an epic collection. Essential.

Review: Have played gangsters all summer with Jenks, young jump-up talent ACP whips up a storm on Escalation Sound with 'The Wait'. Crisp and contemporary, each cut is chiselled down to the bare groove bone as he gets twisted in all kinds of gortty and alien ways. 'Bangers' is especially of note as he flexes on a sinewy lazer in an almost trippy and hypnotic way. 'Leg Bender' continues that flavour, too as a teasing dreamy intro drops into a frog chorus that's so greasy you need a shower just reading these words. Worth it.

Review: Oh gosh! Whether you're massively into Deep In The Jungle but you've got a few holes in your collection that need filling, or you've just started getting into this side of the music, this 60+ anthem collection is an amazing resource for all modern day junglists. Curated by bossman DJ Hybrid, this collection takes us back through the label's history and cherry picks an amazing array of peaktime wounders, bruisers and bubblers. To pick one or two highlights from such a generous collection doesn't feel right so let us advise you to take in that tracklist, press play and totally vibe out to some of the best jungle bangers made in the last 11 years. Mad love to the DITJ crew!

Review: What a stomper of a collection we have here as we see a truly marvellous link up between Run In The Jungle, D*Minds & T>I, who join forces for a powerhouse display across this 16 track masterclass. From the outright raucous bass curls and vocal chops of 'Riko's Revenge' to the more nostalgic horn work of 'Selecta' and haunted synthetic stabs of 'Horrid', we can see this link up has birthed a wide ranging set of styles, ready and waiting to launch any dancefloor into an absolute frenzy. Our standout features across this sonic arsenal include the gut-wrenching bass twists of 'Insane', the unpredictable synth sizzles of 'Kill Sound' and of course 'Ride Or Die', a new school jungle epic that explores a fiery fusion of vocal chops and breaksy slices. Top work from all involved

Review: Who let the dubs out? Benny Page did, of course. He's been letting them out for a long time now and Dub Shotta is the manifestation of everything he's been doing over the years. Just look at the line-up of contributors here... Speaker Louis to Serial Killaz to Kleu to Nick The Lot to Joely to Jenks to many more, it's a powerful new-gen display of power as we're swept off our feet from robotic funk highs (Wigman - 'Best Shot') to glitched out choppy-chop freakery (Zapya & Speaker Louis' 'Toppa') and 27 other sick jams in between. Pound for pound this is one of the heaviest upfront dnb Vas you'll find this month. Woof woof.

Review: Pow! Benny Page gives 2023 one last kick in the ghoulies with his second album Run For Cover. Following 2018s P.U.R.P.L.E, which was fully led by Sweetie Irie, this LP also celebrates the vocal aspect of jungle and system music with an insane roll call of MC crème dela crème. Spyda, Tenor Fly (RIP), Devilman, Doktor, Bellyman, Eva Lazarus and MC Sye are just some of the mic handlers as Benny bubbles and flexes us through his signature bouncy jungle sound. Highlights include Tenor cutting through the cowbells on 'Rude Boy Sound' and Evie Rose's haunting tones on 'Life Lessons'. Keep this covered!

Clarkey, ACP, Nexus Noxxic, R!PT!DE, Excel and Neman all feature on this wild collabo collection as Entei puts us through our paces in all kinds of a freaky funky ways. Review: Good grief, good golly, good heavens... Nick The Lot and his Pick The Lot gang are back with more slick tricks than a 60s Cockney thug and the only criminal act would be to not pay attention. First 'Goodie Goodie VIP' gets real with bulging basses and a dark sense of funk while Stillz, Pengo and Spooka all get involved on the super-springy 'Battlefield'. Elsewhere Amplify and Master Error get busy on the warping, weirdo, super-squelch bubbler 'Crystal' before Nick shuts down the operation with the deeper, heads-down grizzler 'Anything You Say'. Magenta, Amplify, Stillz, Jack Reeves, Fatman D and Sero all join the fray at different points and the results cross the board from funky to flattening. Highlights include the tongue in cheek vibes and jokes sample of 'Wrong Tune', the pure undiluted venom of 'Badman' and the solo finale by Pengo himself 'Take Your Pick'. Review: Woi to the oi. Bryan Gee's mighty V is now 30 years old! Chances are they're older than you... And way gullier too. Just listen to these first three anniversary cuts. Need For Mirrors takes a cult Dillinja jam and modernises it in a stylised, contemporary way that only he knows how. Urbandawn and Alibi whip up one of the most outrageous tear-ups we've heard this century and Think Tonk takes his 2020 banger Tom & Heavy to brave new ravey pastures. What an EP, what a way to kick off 30 years of beats! Original pioneer material.

Review: Around the world in 12 wubs; Alix Perez's superlative 1985 continues to dig deeper and deeper into our psyche with the third volume of their faultless Atlas VA series. As always, the tempos are set to flexible as we slide and glide between the style and speeds courtesy of some incredible names... Cesco brings some proper dark UKG on 'Superstealth', Sir Hiss gets angular with the electroid funk of 'Shower Man Time', Visages go all slinky and futurist on 'Margit' while the bossman Perez and GLXY link up for something truly sexy and soulful with 'Green Lane'. All this and so much more, from Rockwell & Scepticz to Settle Down to Eprom, this is yet another exceptional adventure from the 1985 crew.

Review: Are you sitting comfortably? Sofa Sound don DLR most certainly is as he unleashes his third album 'Money Till I Got None'. Featuring the vocalist charms of Fox, Freddy B, Rider Shafique and Gusto, it's DLR's most forthright and firesome album to date. Focusing hard on the dance with some of his heaviest and thiccest productions to date, cuts like '1234', 'Money Games' and 'Scrimp & Save' all hit harder than a Happy Shopper value cola being dropped from a 40 storey building with 3 packs of unbranded mentos inside. Make no mistakes, this is a humungous album and yet another benchmark set by the Bristol end boss.

Every bit as explosive as the title track suggests, 'Nuclear' squelches its way into oblivion with a gnarled bassline that's more alien frog than it is digital. Highlights ping and fling throughout the EP but the biggest bangs happen on the savage swagger of 'Violent' and the twisted barks of the firing finale 'Descend'. Boom.

Bomb Squad (Bou remix) - (4:48) 175 BPM
Review: Buckle up for a high-octane ride with "Bomb Squad (Bou Remix)" on Low Down Deep Recordings. This remix by Bou injects fresh energy into the original track, taking it from jump-up territory to full-fledged drum & bass annihilation. The remix wastes no time in establishing its dominance. Gone are the original's playful elements; Bou slams the listener with a barrage of breakneck drumwork and a sub-bassline that will rattle your speakers. The signature jump-up sound is still present, but it's been twisted and contorted to create a more aggressive soundscape.

Review: Full steam ahead! DJ Hybrid's Audio Addict engine ploughs into the new year with this exceptional trio of tracks from Welsh warrior Bennie. As always with both parties, the focus is firmly on the dance as Bennie works us through our paces bassline after bassline... 'Loco' is the big bruiser of the bunch, 'Killa' is all about the groove dexterity with its chopped up vocals and energetic groove while 'Step God' pushes the boundaries in a very forward-thinking, contemporary way. Originally released in May 2023, now it's in the hands of filth wizards such as Master Error, Gino, T95, Nick The Lot, Majistrate and Sub Killaz. Highlights include the cool switches and endless of energy of Gino's take on 'Rendevous' and the extreme grot and intensity of Nick The Lot's twist on 'You Better Move' but on the real this whole EP is utter chaos. Review: Oliver Dollar, a Berlin-based artist who first appeared on Rekids as a remixer in 2012, has returned to Radio Slave's label with his 'Strings for Life' EP. The EP's title track begins with rich and stirring strings that add soul to the track. The song is warm, euphoric, and built on a rocksteady disco groove, making it both familiar and classic. 'School Daze' is a loopy track with funky bass, jazzy chords, and timeless house drums topped off with a retro vocal sample. The EP's final track, 'Sophisticated Funk,' features an epic, emotive beatdown, and Dollar doubles down on the disco. Oliver Dollar brings a very different sound to Rekids with this EP, which is full of joyous and lush tunes.

Five cuts in total, each track flexes that grimy, underground intense sweaty vibe Trex has forever been pushing. Already big in the sets of DLR, Trex and many others, all of these cuts hit the dance hard but if you're pushing us for favourites then we're always going to shout about the VIP of 'Do Nothing'. Review: No one knows what ACP stands for. A Cool Person? A Crap Party? Ah Crazy Patterns? Andy C's Pants? Who knows? But one thing we do know is that his music is seriously bubbling right now and you need to be paying attention to it. Fresh from his release on Serial Killaz comes this awesome Souped Up debut. Angular, scrappy and full of trippy surprises, 'Jumpscare' is an epic peak time slayer that sits somewhere between a young Dutta and the Teddy Killaz. 'Lullaby' is equally disarming, especially with its switch to dreamy instruments on the hook. Finally 'Foghorn' mischievously returns to one of the most divisive sounds in contemporary dnb and flips it into a vicious robotic mess. Another crucial platter.

Opening with big reggae skanks, powerful vocals from Spyda and a bassline sharper than a sassy roadman on a bed of nails, it's a big 2024 anthem in waiting. Elsewhere Rouman gets involved on the sexier feels of 'Smoke' while finale 'Gun' shoots first and knocks heads off later with pure greasy intent. Bang bang!

Review: Most frequently spotted on his own Pick The Lock imprint and other imprints such as Zombie and Gradient, Nick The Lot returns to NY label Digital Terror with a full EP - 'Ganja Man'. Fragrant sonics as always, Nick sparks the joint up with the title track which hits with a classic sample and a big old smoky swagger. It's backed up by three more heavy strains... 'You Understand' hits like Gelato, sweet to begin with but intoxicating within seconds, 'Blue Fantas' is more of a pollen style smoke - dark, heavy and rich in flavour - while 'Fired Up' is more like your classic Gorilla Glue strain. Messy, addictive and guaranteed to keep you coming back for more. High grade as always from Mr T Lot.

As always with the Japanese artist, the vibes are set high and are fully uncompromised as he digs deep into the D&B psyche in a number of cool and creative ways. 'Inner Mind' strips things back to the bare funky essentials while 'No Sanctuary' goes for a deliciously venomous and stabby approach which owes just as much to techno as it does wobblers. Deeper into the EP we hit the emotional charms of 'Ecstasy Rising' before 'Techwise' finishes the EP and melts off all of our skin. Fresh!

Review: It may be an 'odds and ends' release, featuring as it does a mixture of originals, remixes and edits, but DJ Kaos's latest offering is packed to the rafters with high-grade gear. Kaos first offers up his disco sample-heavy edit of Dangerous Dan and Nicky Night Time's 'Mystery' before we're treated to Solomun's hypnotic-but-loose-limbed early morning revision of Kaos's 'I Want To Be There'. His tweak of Daniel Wang and Erland Oye hook-up 'Lessons' is a hybrid deep house meets drowsy nu-disc affair, while 'Only Dead Men Are Free' is a fine fusion of Patrick Cowley style Hi-NRG grooves and elements of country classic 'Jolene'. To round things off, we get two top remixes: the Glimmers' throbbing, wide-eyed sprint through 'Spiral Jetty', and extended Dr Dunks disco-meets-acid house revision of 'Horny Morning Loop'.

Review: Here's something we didn't expect: a Nu Groove label debut from original breakbeat-house hero - and for a long time Layo's right-hand man - Matthew 'Bushwacka' B. Sonically it makes perfect sense, though, because the four cuts on show seem to have been inspired by the label's glory days in the late '80s and early '90s, as well as vintage UK deep house. 'Strictly Nu' is a rolling, sweat-soaked builder smothered in dreamy chords and underpinned by rubbery, oscillating synth-bass, while 'Love Can You' joins the dots between the Burrell Brothers and glassy-eyed warehouse dancefloors at 5am. 'Right Now' sees him blend his own funk-fuelled breakbeat-house rhythms with fluttering flute solos, loved-up vocal samples and warm chords, while 'True For You' is as gorgeous as it is tough and peak-time ready.

Highlights include the super twisted angular freakery of the Belgian-styled slapper 'Believe', the rifle fire of lasers and weird textures on 'Isolate' (with Pengo), the woozy weirdness and sudden switches of 'Wreck'. Batten down the hatches.

Review: Holy smokes! Deep In The Jungle is now 10 years old! Huge props to the label bossman - and all-round G - DJ Hybrid who's smashed the label's repertoire and reputation over the years. Just look at the artists who've contributed to the label over the years. Lavery, Sl8r, Hungry T, RMS, Conrad Subs, Epicentre and so many more established jungle talents have all enjoyed a DITJ boost over the years and this massive VA is a reminder of that. 50 cuts from across the last decade, we're not even going to insult the rollcall here picking highlights - this is a huge collection that's essential for anyone looking to stack up on authentic jungle productions and represent one of the coolest, most consistent labels in the jungle dnb world.

Review: With longer-play projects becoming more and more welcome again within the D&B space, this latest epic from the Pick The Lock crew sees Clarkey deliver six fiery spice boxes. Opening up with the awesome title track 'Intoxicated Dream', we are greeted by a fusion of clicky synth crunches and acidic drips, followed by the neurotic-influxes and percussive mastery of 'Step Up. Next, collaboration time as Warhead arrives for some additional magic on the synth-driven 'Cry For Help', followed by 'The Exorcist' with its gnarly bass crunches and 'Voicemail', a sweeping epic, featuring additional collaborative efforts from Noxxic. Finally, 'Cacaphony' sends the entire EP into a different dimension with a brain-crunching combination of sliding bass synths and gnarly subs, rounding off this EP in serious style.

Review: The summer of rave has landed and Demuja is here with Higher Places, a producer found on imprints like Skylax Classic, Shall Not Fade, Freerange and more. For his Aus Music debut he brings back a familiar rave motif to a banging new rendition of drums in "Work My Body". Next is a deeper, liquid club cut that is "Deep Inside Your Soul" with its classic pano effect while Demuja pays house music homage with "That Piano Track" - obviously. Closing the EP is a collaborative number with Kolter called "Bonzai" that's peppered with a techier and minimal sound, let's say from that Higher Place.

Previous spotted 'cutting people first' together back in 2022, they're now back with even sharper VIP knives and you'd be wise to stay out of their sweary way! More cuts continue as the pair link-up on the super grizzly 'Quick Hands' before going solo with a tune each... 10AD's 'Throwback' is a stripped back bruiser coated in strange Simula style croaks while Noxxic's 'Neck Brace' is so heavy it might actually break your neck. Review: Fatman D's big bad Bio brand continues to celebrate 20 years with this second instalment of their double decade VA collection. Featuring some of their most exciting names (Enta, Profile, Chris Kastro, Traumatize, Parallel, DJ Limited, to name a few), the vibes are some of the most forward-thinking and exciting that Bio has ever released. From the eerie soul and crisp ripple of Parallel's 'District 9', the oddball wobbles of Grimmo's 'Like That' and Enta and Kastro's utterly scorchio 'Insult To Injury' are just a few of many sick examples. Big up the Bio gang!

Review: Call up your enemies and tell them you love to hate them! Nemesis Recordings are back with more bruisers from Noxxic! Bringing along good friends 10AD and Neman for a collaborative ride, the full five-track collection kicks in all directions. 'Pop' will be a big favourite with many as it rumbles with Hazard style barking bassline and a killer rap sample on the fill, elsewhere other highlights include the neck-snapping two-step and lazer twist 'Kill Them' and the classic mid 2000s tear-up vibe of 'Mr Smite'. Disgusting scenes.

Review: Some dads clean up your mess. Other dads make you mess yourself. Other dads make the mess and expect you to clean it up. We don't even need to tell you what type of fathers Serum and Voltage are, but in case you're unaware of the mischievous influence they have on each other, let's just say they're not changing any nappies tonight. 'Pum Pum Rule' is a splat-and-dash dust-up with some of the funkiest drums the pair have ever programmed while 'Metamorphosis' takes us back to the late 2000s style of tear-up with very messy consequences. Watch out for volume two when they try and tell us about the birds and the bees. Eek.

Review: Following their launch with the man-of-the-moment Cuvurs, FTR now let rip Stateside style with these four jugular cutters from Sub Killaz. 'Ghost Town' sets the scene with its high voltage textures and classic cockney vocal sample before things get a lot more pranged out with the subverted rave twist-out 'Illusions'. Looking for something harsher and more unforgiving? 'Tip Toe' is the savage stepper for you while 'Trigga Fingers' takes a classic sample and drags it through the murkiest low end swamps imaginable. Deliciously toxic.

Review: Although the first instalment of Larry Heard's 'Vault Sessions' series of EPs featuring rare and hard-to-find material specifically showcased tracks he produced in 1988, there's no rigid concept behind this sequel - but plenty of must-have gems from the deep house legend's bulging archive. The EP opens with 'The Time Is Now (Old School Mix)', a Heard-produced Felicia Williams single of old that's typically deep and sensual, before the Chicagoan offers Jordan Fields and Kevin Elliot's Club Zanzibar New Jersey-inspired 1995 dub of 'Premonition of Love'. Elsewhere, 'Andromeda Dub' sees Heard meld deep house, dub and sci-fi synth sounds, while DJ Mel's revision of all-time-classic 'Mystery of Love' is a rolling, percussive treat.

I'm Gonna Dance (Jitwam remix) - (4:40) 125 BPM
Review: Buoyed by the success of the Dimitri From Paris remixes of 'Space Talk', Naya Beat has decided to offer up more new reworks of classic cuts from the disco-era catalogue of Indian singer and actress Asha Puthli. Naturally Space Talk gets another tweak - Maurice Fulton delivers a sparse, percussive, dubbed-out take in his inimitable style -but there are plenty of revisions of lesser-celebrated cuts to enjoy. Yuksek turns 'I Am Song (Sing Me)' into a hybrid storming soul/surging Moroder-disco workout; Kraak & Smaak go all deep disco on the dreamy 'Lies'; Turbitto & Ragz add a touch of delay to the Indian disco-goes-Salsoul flex of 'One Night Affair'; 'Right Down Here' is turned into a spaced-out cosmic disco number by Psychemagik; and Jitwam adds a touch of 21st century weight to suspenseful disco gem 'I'm Gonna Dance'.

Review: Kendrick's stacking up the paper right here on Maji's Sweet Tooth with his 'Money' EP. The title track sets the tone and juices up our balances with a sweet variety of jungle elements and the meltiest bassline Kendrick's whipped up so far in his career. And the cash keeps rolling in for the rest of the EP... '98' gets all high frequency funky with big rave stabs and just a touch of barbed soul on the vocal samples, 'VTD' goes all stompy stompy drama drama while 'Insanity' finishes on a nice mellow chilled number. Just kidding, as the title suggests, it'll tear you limb from limb. But would you expect anything less from Kendrick? Chuck your loose change at him next time you see him!

Review: Nu Groove shines a spotlight on the musical geniuses who transformed the renowned NYC label into a must-have for crate diggers, both in the past and today. Their crucial tracks undergo a contemporary reimagining by present-day industry trendsetters and discerning tastemakers. To kick things off, Metro's 'Turnstyle Turbulance' gets a remix treatment from the skilled Italian duo NiCe7, infusing it with enchanting vibes and transforming it into an auditory joyride. Following suit, the classic house anthem 'APT. 2B' by N.Y. House'n Authority (aka the alter ego of Rheji Burrell) receives a rejuvenating touch from remix expert Mark Broom, giving the track a new lease on its funky life. Fasten your dancing shoes because 'Love Fantasy' by Tracer, the brainchild of Luie Rivera and the legendary Paradise Garage DJ Joey Llanos, undergoes a stylish makeover by Dirty Channels. These Italian maestros know how to add an extra layer of spice to an already scorching track. And if that weren't enough, the dynamic duo Honey Dijon & Luke Solomon bring their musical expertise to Rheji Burrell's 'Guitarz' as Asylum, concluding this sonic escapade with a flourish.

Review: Next up from MPH, a trip over to AEI for another dance-inspiring five track outing, exploring the most fragrant areas of new school garage music from start to finish. We open up with the late-coming summer sounds of 'Crash & Burn', a beautiful link up with Lauren L'aimant, who lets fly a palpable box of vocal tricks. Next, a more breaks-driven idea as 'Overrated' sees chopped up drums and staunch subs meet, with the bouncy basslines of 'Show Me' and more subtle drum sweeps of 'Promise' then following in hot pursuit. We then check out the finale for the EP in 'Bad Day', a sumptuous combination of wistful vocals and tidily arranged drums, giving us a softened touch down to close.

Review: Long-serving producer Disco Tech has released more edits and reworks over the years than we've had hot dinners. Remarkably, he still continues to deliver on-point revisions - as this second volume in his ongoing 'Reworks' EP series proves. There's much to admire across the six tracks on show, from the atmospheric, slow-burn excellence of AOR disco revision 'Stars In The Ghetto' and the dub-funk wonder that is the James Brown-sampling 'Boss', to the peak-time '80s disco sing-along 'Take Time' and the on-point Clash dub disco revision 'Magnificent'. We also recommend 'Be With You', a deliciously groovy, dubbed-out take on a Doc Severinsen track that has long been a DJ Harvey favourite.

Review: Fire in the hole! Upgrade is back on Low Down Deep Recordings and he's serving up some proper adult tackle. 'Marked' takes the lead with a killer Tupac line and a swathing bassline that chops first and asks questions never. It sets the tone for the whole EP as Lord Uppers gets pacy and technoid on the deliciously trippy 'Stop N Drop', 'You Pussy' is a springy blitzer, all peppy and high range and 'I Don't Need Nobody' takes another iconic vocal and works some proper black magic around it. Having built up a powerful backlog of free downloads over the years, the UK crew now go full label mode with this savage session from Sam Pyro. Whipping up a raw, rough round-the-edges vibe throughout, Pyro's got his funk on with the raggo swagger of 'Sms' and the dark sensuality and sweet chops of the RnB sampling 'The Way U Get'. Need some grit in your life, but still love big swooping synths? 'Can't Give Up' is the tune for you. Finally 'Rave Ting' completes the EP with an absolutely walloping bassline that rockets out of a string/synth build-up with ridiculous energy. Pyro's got the heat right here.

Review: Man like Break in the house! Following his almighty album 'Digital World', the Symmetry bossman is back with some absolutely divine dnb flavours. 'Cocktail' says it all. Coming on strong like a Defcon-era Total Science, it's stark homage to the roots with brazen drums tuned to the most infinite degree. It's backed by plenty more heat; 'Juice It' comes with an ice cold sense of tension and a sudden splash of vocal you'll think you imagined. Too good. Deeper again we hit pure hardcore hedonism with the dark stabs of 'Vanishing Point' before 'Tell Me' closes the EP on more of a dreamy, euphoric note. Big love to Break.
