Review: As ever with Vern & Milla we are in for a fun fueled thrill ride here as they land again on the legendary Keysound for a supreme wonk-out across three storming original creations. For the title track, fellow chop wizard Blackdown joins the party the super unpredictable chord slices and break slaps of 'Untouchable', before Vern & Milla touch down back on solo duty with the super blippy 'Catch My Breath'. Next up, the colourful bass rolls and drum slices of 'Shokata' arrive on the scene, before the stunning, Asian inspired harmonies and overall soundscape of 'Yoshimitsu' finishes this whole project off with a proper bang!

Review: The Bek Audio anniversary celebrations continue apace with this fine second volume. First up is PTTRN with the percussive, drum-heavy "180621 S61.1", which is every bit as purist as its title suggests. Label owner Gary Beck takes the tempo up a notch with the rolling groove and snappy percussion of "Disgraced Loon" - but smart vocal snatches and chord stabs ensure that it doesn't veer into banging sameness. Petter B's "Second Day" approaches intensity from a different angle, thanks to the use of shimmering woozy chords, while on "Patterns", a collaboration between Beck and Alan Fitzpatrick, melodies also make an appearance - although on this occasion they flit in and out of the duo's steely drums and crisp percussion.
Review: K7 have looked all the way to Mumbai, India for their latest signing, snapping up this five-tracker from Sanaya Ardeshir, whose previous credits include an EP for Wind Horse and a remix for George Fitzgerald. 'Eleven Eleven' itself blends downtempo, dreampop, 60s psych and broken beat influences, and is supplied in vocal and instrumental mixes. Elsewhere on the EP, 'Shift' and 'Glock' have an ambient jazz kinda feel, while 'Ever Bridge' sounds like it was written to soundtrack a movie scene where the protagonist stares moodily out of the coffee shop window on a grey, rainy Tuesday afternoon.
