Review: Bristol-based Kit Wilmans Fegradoe, a 23-year-old scientist whose working field happens to be music, springs up with a debut release in the form of an EP for the painfully excellent Important Records. Just as a side note, the imprint has been responsible for some of the best reissues of the last five years and a whole load of new and exciting electronic music. Fegradoe's Issa is a work of beauty and passion, electro-acoustic manipulation and bittersweet electronica. Each one of the six tracks are loose and airy, their arrangements packed into tight grooves thanks to the rigid structure of their melodies...and all this occurs largely without the help of any beats but rather thanks to wavey bursts of machine-like drone such as on "Shruti". This is music for people who love electronics but who also prefer their servings with a little extra sauce, a thicker layer of instrumentation sprinkled on top.
